Can you name the artist who did this work?
It is cheating to use Google Images in your quest. Just make an educated guess. I believe the dog is an Irish setter.

John Muir?
I take it back, I see his name in the corner.
Looks like the signature contains Hitler?
Hitler? Think I’ve seen it before, in history class.
Weird … I responded to this early this morning, but my response is not here. Shortly after I commented, I got a server error from WordPress when submitting another comment on a different post. Maybe WordPress just had the heebie-jeebies this morning.
It’s very weird because the comment appeared in my e-mail, and it’s now nowhere on this site!
For the record, you were the first to get it.

OH! OH! I know this one! :-D
Adolf Hitler is the artist. A lot of people don’t know that Adolf Hitler was a dog lover (of sorts). He was also an artist (of sorts), at least during his youth. He flunked entrance to art school but for awhile he sold watercolors and sketches. He appears to have been moderately talented & in fact several of his drawings of dogs exist. I think this one was intended to be a spaniel. There are some others of spaniels and hounds & a few decent GSDs. He was pretty good at drawing dogs, mediocre with watercolor landscapes, and pretty awful with portraits. 9:49 EST
You comment is on the actual photo itself. Not the post. So if you click the photo, you will see your comment there. =]
As for the photo, I had no idea! Although, it doesn’t surprise me in the least, being that Hitler was all about eugenics. Which is exactly what the dog fancy practices.
Wasn’t Hitler involved with The Kennel Club in Britain prior to the war? I thought so but maybe I’m wrong.
I actually don’t know why it appeared there. LOL. This blog has its moments.
Thanks Scottie! I was beginning to question my sanity ;-p .
