   Some kind of fox. Maybe a grey fox, or artic, or silver phase red fox?

       Grey fox, then. True story: when we lived in San Diego, there was tree in the backyard that went over the fence. One night the dogs had a fit at something in the tree, which at first glance looked like a cat, but turned out to be a grey fox.

   Two posts on baby animals in a row? Are you trying to tell us something? Mileymamma? or Retrieverdaddy?

   And if I am guessing wrong and you find it at all offensive, you can yell at me in all caps.

   Please tell me you aren’t going to give up dogs, and start daddy-blogging.

   Puppy blogging would be fun though, I would love to watch a litter of your dogs grow. You observe and write well, it would be fun. But even I can only take so much sweetness, and babies overdo it.

   I am going to assume that it is a hybrid, because I find hybrids more interesting. (Sometimes, being logical is just no fun!) Commonly, hybrids are named with the first part of the father’s name, and the last part of the mother’s name.

   You have given us: “Wild Dog Puppy”, so I am going to call that a clue, because I like clues. So the father’s name is something like: Wi, Wil, Wild, Wild D. Can’t think of a breed that applies to, so I am going to guess “Willie” because I want to guess something.

   So the mother’s name might be: -ild, -ld, -d, -d D. -d Dog. Oh, I think I might have a guess: german shepherD DOG.

   That gives us “Wild Dog”. Paternity test Willie?

   What would you get if you crossed a Jack Russell Terrier with a German Shepherd Dog?

   I don’t know, but it would be big, and it wouldn’t need coffee.

   Isn’t that what Herr Dobermann did? Cross big shepherd dogs with intense little terriers? I understand that the breed was outcrossed and toned down by later breeders.

   I think they look like panther kittens – I’ve never seen panther kittens, but I like the idea. But they have to be dogs, because you wrote “puppy”. How about: Willie went hunting a rare West Virgina black panther female, and she left this cub-puppy on a zoo doorstep? That would be a good story.

   I have no idea what the photo is of, but I didn’t want to not guess. I hope it is a painted wolf puppy and that there are at least a dozen of them, because I like painted wolves. But it looks a bit tiny.
