Ugh, he fed his dog beans…can you imagine the smell?
“A head or a neck shot”…that took me back to my days as a grad student in Aberdeen. Game pie was always on the menu, and I can only suppose those who shot the contents were of the “splatter it!” school of marksmanship.
Those plates of pie were always really heavy, and experienced eaters who valued their teeth went warily, as at least one third of the meal always seemed to be composed of number 4 shot.
I remember that the other game option on the menu was venison. The university took cull deer from the estates…aged stags that wouldn`t survive another winter, mostly. You needed steel teeth for those……
Happy days!
Elizabeth
I’ve had a few pheasants w/ a bad case of “lead poisoning” as well.
