A black panther captured by trail cam in Logan County, West Virginia?

I am more than a bit skeptical.

A lot of heavily-boned black dogs with long tails look like pantherine cats from a distance.

But it seems awfully cat-like.

So what could it be?

This is why you need scale.

And it turns out that the guy who put out this cam happened to get a few deer by this same stump.

deer by stump not a black panther

It’s a cat.

A bloody cat.

It’s a black one.

And it’s Halloween time.

Or they could have giant deer in Logan County, and if that’s true, it is not safe to drive around down there at night!

Looks like a normal house cat to me!

Of course it is a black panther or the cub of a panther. Bigfoots don’t keep noisy animals like dogs as pets, they keep animals like panthers as pets. When you are an 800 pound Bigfoot you can keep all sorts of wildlife as pets. And the hills are alive with bigfoots aren’t they?

I know all about stuff like that beause I red the Hobbit and Tarzan books, seen Disney movies too. You can’t learn about that sort of thing by reading the sports page or the recipe section. You gotta go to special sources just about woodland things. Sure some of it, like Disney, is aimed for kids, but that doesn’t make it any less real.

Lots of people don’t believe in things which they haven’t gone out into the woods after dark to see. How can you say something doesn’t exist if you haven’t gone where it lives to have a chance to see it? And you can’t expect to see a bigfoot during the day when most of them is asleep in their family den, you gotta go after dark.

But don’t expect to spot a bigfoot right off first time you go wandering the woods after dark. They can see your flashlight from miles away, and you can’t roam those hills after dark without a flashlight, you wouldn’t be able to see where you was going and you might fall off a cliff. Beside that, the Bigfoot can hear you coming and they can smell your swet.

But come the end of this month, if you see someone in a furry suit, it might be someone dresssed like a bigfoot, or it might be a real bigfoot wearing a bigfoot costume over his real fur to trick you into thinking that it is ALL a costume.

Like I know someone who is going to be an angel for Halloween, but she aint no angel. Yet that don’t mean there aint no angels. And if a real angel wanted to be unrecognised on Halloween, they’d be smart to buy a cheap angel costume to wear so as that everyone would think they was only a person dressed as an angel. You know, like real pirates dress as fake pirates because they already have the costume.

Oh, and just in case you do meet one, the polite thing to call a bigfoot is “Sasqautch” (not sure how they spell their name).

Every time interesting news is in short supply in the UK we get these “panther” sightings where it is never possible to judge the size accurately. However, with this one I think we might easily conclude that it is a black moggy, don’t you think?

I saw this in my newsfeed too. It only had the first photo, of the cat (of COURSE), but it’s obviously a black dsh. Thanks for posting the deer photo. I’m gonna repost the whole thing for all those facebook people who argued with me.

Chazz Mc Daid took that photo at the end of Sept. In August he found a deer carcass lodged 15 feet up in the tree where the cam is located. He set out his cam and got this pic 6 weeks later. We are going out tomorrow to set out cams and try to recover some physical evidence of the cat. We have no idea what it is, but it is a large cat–the white object in the foreground is a 4 inch cinderblock

      Um. Bullshit.

    • on December 22, 2013 at 7:29 pm casdog1

A cinderblock? First of all, those aren’t white. They’re gray. And secondly, no it’s not. It’s most likely a piece of paper trash. Notice it’s gone in the shot with the deer. Cinder blocks don’t tend to just disappear, whereas paper trash blows away or disintegrates quickly.

And it’s a house cat, which is obvious if you know anything about feline anatomy. The head & jaws give it away.

No but there is a deer hanging in a tree, where a leopard obviously carried it!

Retrieverman, Look at the pics. The cat was taken on Sept 28. Some asshole photoshopped the deer into the pic of the stump. The trees aren’t the same. I’ll post something in a day or two to help you feel like the dumbass you are.

      Conspiracy theory…

Their are no oak leaves that are that big. The oak leaves prove that this animal is a domestic cat.

      End of story.

You people make West Virginia look like a place full of toothless rubes.

      I’m tired of it.

That’s okay, Cletus, you done wore out your welcome here anyway,

  7. on December 22, 2013 at 7:47 pm massugu

Actually, it looks like a piece of styrofoam packing–a ubiquitous object in the Mid-Atlantic woodlands.

  8. on December 22, 2013 at 7:48 pm massugu

BTW: He should have known better than to start calling you names–I guess its pretty obvious who the dumbass was.

  9. on December 22, 2013 at 7:51 pm massugu

You know, it occurs to me that it’d be a good idea to start placing yardsticks around the sites where trail cams are located. I’m really tired of all these unverifiable claims.
