If breeders are selecting for temperament, it seems natural that pigs that are smart or who have more personality would end up eventually influencing the gene pool. But then, it could also be that we’ve just been underestimating them for a long time. =)
For most of their history as domesticated animals, they have been food.
I mean breeders in the U.S. and probably Europe. They would be selecting for temperament and personality, I’m assuming.
