     The only thing about that show is that it kind of tells you that the location of Possum Lake is somewhere in Southern Ontario.

     The only place with a lot of Virginia opossums in Canada is Southern Ontario. Occasionally, one wanders up into the Eastern Townships of Quebec. http://chassequebec.com/2008/06/02/des-opossums-au-quebec/

     I laughed when I read that these opossums were vaccinated for rabies. Opossums are not a carrier of rabies. It is very hard for them to catch it at all. Their body temperature is too low.

   I live just west of the townships and was under the impression that the vaccines were for the raccoons. It seems that there are a lot of raccoons here and in upstate Vermont/New York with rabies. The vaccine is put into food and dropped out of a low flying plane.

     When I had that post about the Quebec opossums translated, it said that they vaccinated the opossum before releasing it.

     They do vaccine drops for rabies here, and it’s been wonderful for the raccoons. We have more now than I remember ever having.

   I haven’t trained anything but little maintenance stuff in weeks. Had to, had to, had to take the opportunity to go out today. Rain, slush, muck. My dogs were FILTHY today. I so very much could have used that dog wash!

     I use the swimming pool for days like that. Just to take the heavy grime off of the dogs. A bit hard on the pool filter, but then if we didn’t have the dogs, there would be no need for the pool!

       Rinse them off in the pool??? Oh my.

       January. Ohio. Another 8-10 weeks of cold, grim muck.

       I’m STILL cold from today. And my dogs are still pretty dirty!

         I know. We used to live in places with snow & below zero temps. That’s one of the advantages of California. I guess we would have to invest in a large heated spa if we returned there.

         My dogs are spoiled, and expect frequent swims.

     I watched it every Saturday night until the last episode was shown. I watch it now only sporadically.

     That’s the only video of that character I can find on youtube.

     He’s played by Gordon Pinsent, who also does the voice of Babar. I’m such a Canadophile.

     I actually grew up at the real Possum Lake, except it was a much farther south and the accent was much different. Plenty of ‘possums, though.

     My favorite Ranger Gord skit was the one about zebra mussels. He didn’t know that zebra mussels were an invasive species, so he did a lecture on zebra muscles.

   Red Green was one of my favorite show to watch and i *do* remember the dog wash episode! I had a girlfriend that worked for the CBC and she got us tickets to sit in the audience for on of the show tapings. That was a good time, I even got Red’s autograph!
