I received many photos from northern Poland last winter when Willie’s dad went there on business.
I think I posted only the fallow deer photo.
I was going to put the Wolf’s Lair (Wolfsschanze) pictures up, but I don’t know what these would have to do with this blog.
By the way, please note that this golden is more typical of what is seen in European countries. The very pale coloration is quite popular.
Yes, these dogs are whitish and from English lines stressing the the light color. Many are from puppy mills, not all are registrable
but then most pet owners do not need a “name” for their dog, Duracell works. (Might be a clue to his activity level, too.)
True and sad- most golden retrievers in Europe look this pale, white, creamish. But I can’t agree on HTTrainers comment about puppy mills. Because its illigal to breed dogs in puppymills here (in my country) and puppys can’t be sold in petshops etc.
It is only registred kennels who have this pale “goldens” (and of course those who buy puppys from them), breed and show the cream retriever. And those with working goldens are the one who have a darker color, the original color. But they are rare or atleast uncommon.

However, in the US, the very light colors make up the minority of the breed and have been promoted and sold as ‘rare white golden retrievers.’
Many puppy mills have latched onto them, mass producing all sorts of white dogs with little regard to temperament or health.
I saw a bunch of darker colored, working type goldens in Munich, but Bavaria has a lot of hunting and fishing.
