Tanuki?
Face and conformation looks like a Dhole. A fore shortened skull, rounded ears, short legs. The coloring fits mostly (white inner ears, black tipped tail).
But if this image is mostly incorrect, my guess is that the person who did it saw a pelt and thus got the details at the extremities wrong. Tail right. Coloring right.
Thus, I vote “prairie wolf.” The humble coyote.
