I wonder what prevented them from colonising more territory. Why are they limited to northeastern Africa?
We actually don’t know the full limits of their range. We simply don’t know which “golden jackals” might be wolves. However, they probably couldn’t compete with African wild dogs as well. These are small wolves and form very small packs. African wild dogs form swarms.
