Not only Jesus was Liberal, he challenged right wingers of his time on each and every occasion. As an example, he provided free Health service to the lepers and blasted the preachers.
Jesus was a very radical man– at least the one revealed in the gospels is.
His views on the rich were particularly left of center.
You can’t read this and think he was of the right. This is from the Gospel of Matthew ch. 25, vs. 35-40:
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Basically, Jesus is saying that Christians should care for the sick, the poor, and the suffering, and when one does so, you are doing so to Him.
Of course, Rick Perry thinks the bible preaches a different gospel. Here is he is talking a TV preacher (do other kinds exist? LOL):
Not a word he says can be found in the gospels.
Maybe the gospel of Ayn Rand, who was vehemently anti-Christian, but not in the gospels in the bible.

I’ve got news for ya..that guy got the job done on Osama, no messing around & it took some guys in a helicaopter, to do it. Why have bush & cheney spent 8 years with their thumbs up their jack-whools, spending your money, for nothing.,…TRILLIONS WASTED BY THESE REPUBLICANS looking for the boogie-man & making enemies of the entire middle east. Now, they want our grand-parents & parents, our kids & our grandkids to foot the bill because Hali-Burn-It, G-EEE, Goldmann SUCKS & the like are job creators & can’t afford taxes right now?!?!? They laid off thousands after raking in record profits & their tax rerturns are a joke but the problem is we become a walking tragedy because of it. Our governaments are bankrupt & cannot provide a proper governance in the service of the people. Republicans don’t care about human beings, only profit & liability. When they speak of the out of control spending, who do you think spent all the money over the decades?!?! The republcians did, of course & their business friends & donors….
If the repug-nicans win a majority or the presidency, I denoucne god too & wish people made decisions based on logic & fairness, not dogma, fear, religion & ridicule of anything different then their narrow, uneducated, views….
