Yes. These are Romney Marsh sheep, which come from Romney Marsh in Kent.
In America, they are usually just called Romneys.
And they are known for constantly changing their positions.
Sometimes they like to eat timothy hay. Other days they want commercial sheep feed.
Somedays, they want to stand out in the rain and snow. Other days, the slightest drizzle has them running to the barn.
Underneath that wool may be some temple garments (“magic underwear.”)

It’s awful to see how the strongly the fundamental (or -ish) christianity rules the political field and its lambs in your big wide country.
On the contrary, we’d just had a female president for the recent 12 years. Yesterday we had the president election round one – and two guys were selected for the final run. The other is a conservatist, with his NATO -symphatics. The other is a liberal green – and an very open homosexual (!)
And it’ll be a very even competion here.
But how is it there ?
It’s going to be a very close presidential election between Obama and either Newt Gingrich, a conservative Catholic, who used to be Baptist, who also wanted an open marriage with his second wife, who also is a defender of “family values,’ or Mitt Romney, a Mormon (look up Mormons– that’s why I put the thing about magic underwear in the post), who used to be the CEO of a private equity firm, which restructured certain companies and which did lay off a lot of people.
That’s too much… !
How can you ever make a serious politics with all that ?!
We don’t. That’s the sad part.
Obama is a sell-out on many levels–the most recent being NDAA coupled with expansion of the killer drone program under CIA auspices.
Romney has no empathy–typical of one who is a corporate success–and is thus likely to dismantle the social gains of the past century and take a belligerent attitude in international fora.
Gingrich, though extremely bright, is given to cognitive dissonance, i.e., he espouses the traditional nuclear American family yet repeatedly engages in extramarital affairs that result in the dissolution of those same traditional marriages; he is a zoologist who chooses to ignore evolution (interestingly, under John Paul II, the Vatican accepted evolution, at least as it applies to non-humans); he quotes the Constitution yet proposes to ignore the tripartite government established by our forefathers; he foresees a future secular state in America that will simultaneously be ruled by fundamentalist Muslims.
I could go on, but you get the picture.
The choices are not good. With luck, the independent voter movements will come up with a practical alternative candidate. If not, I suspect that I’ll have to hold my nose and vote for the incumbent—eeeww!
BTW: John Huntsman, a former Republican candidate, is also a Mormon. BUT, he mad it clear from the get-go that, his personal view would not inform his decision in office. He appears to be a strict constitutionalist, but…a small group of voters took the right of determination away from the rest of the voting public, and he is no longer on the slate. What a system!
