I am about 3 years old in this photo. I’m on my grandparents’ back deck. Frito was my grandpa’s Norwegian elkhound, who was of mixed black and gray lines.

How sweet! Was he named Frito, by any chance, because of how his paws smelled?
I have no idea why he had that name.
His predecessor’s name was Arthur Fonzarelli, a great Norwegian name for a Norwegian dog!
This is a great photo. We all remember our dogs we had as kids. They will always be in our hearts. I believe every kid needs a dog to be there for him.
I have one of my Granddad’s dog Tiny, guarding me in the cradle. Twenty years later, when I had been in the Army for several years, Granddad finally had to have her put down.
