This is my favorite German food: Schweinshaxe, or Bavarian pork knuckle.
My cousin Catie is in Munich, and she sent me this photo via her iPhone to tantalize me.
She’s studying in Copenhagen this summer, and she was with her mom and dad at wedding in Romania this weekend.
Bavaria is beautiful, love the window boxes full of flowers, never saw pork knuckle there. Are you sure this isn’t a picture of the chickens barbequeing at Costco?

There is a great place called ‘Schweizerhaus’ to eat Schweinshaxen in Vienna if you ever go there ;)
Yum! Tried them in Munich and loved them so much that I am seeking out a German/Bavarian beer hall or restaurant in our region. Perfect on a cold winter’s day.
