Nice words, good intent, if a bit self-contradictory at times.
Irony? Sarcasm? Chaplin as Der Fuhrer speaking on democracy? Hmm.
Chaplin was attacking Hitler in that film.
It’s a total attack on Nazis in the film, and it was made just before the war started.
If I recall correctly, Mr Chaplin was banned from reentering the US having been suspected of being a communist sympathiser?
