I took it off in the woods and took a photo of it. No good reason. I just did.

The leather instead of rubber clearly marks this offering as a WORKING shoe, not to be confused with the rubber coated look-alikes. But frankly we would already know that because it’s clearly a size 10, not an overly large size 11 or 12-wide that is all the rage with those posers in the city.
I’m unashamedly a croc fan and wear them daily as house shoes. I occasionally even walk the dogs in them. I wouldn’t be seen dead around town in them though. Incredibly comfy but butt ugly.
Shoe.
When I see a discarded piece of clothing or footwear in the middle of nowhere, I always wonder what the back story of it is. Did the owner limp on with just one croc for the rest of the hike? Was it stolen from someone’s front porch by a coyote with a fetish for sweaty shoes? Did it belong to the owner of a Tibetan Mastiff who finally snapped after said dog chewed just the left shoe of the umpteenth pair and decided to start lobbing the now useless but still good right shoes away in the woods, knowing what a puzzle they would be to passers by. Is the owner lying half dead in the undergrowth after being savaged by a wild hamster and the faithful shoe, lassie style, is searching for help? Well, maybe not that last one, but the penultimate one is half true (I learned to put my shoes away after a while).
