Ben of Hyde
Ben of Hyde was born in 1899, 31 years after the Guisachan strain of yellow wavy-coats was started.
He has a heavy coat, as did many of the early Labradors.
His exact pedigree is not known, so it is difficult to say where his dark yellow coat came from. Maybe he had some Tweedmouth dogs in his background, or maybe this reddish color comes from some water spaniels that were crossed in. He is pretty heavily boned, which might mean he has a bit of Zelstone breeding in him. Yes, Zelstone was also bred into the Labrador.
