Miley and Rhodie play with the raccoon

This followed an epic tug-of-war, and then Miley let Rhodie have her raccoon.

     Yep. She still has relatively weak jaws, but they are stronger than Rhodie’s.

   Miley seems like a very fair minded dog, but there’s fair and then there’s fair. How come Rhodie gets to sit on the furniture ma? ;-)

   I think I get it. This shows how dominance in Golden Retrievers is just like dominance in wild starving wolf families. See the big golden alpha bitch gets the toy, after she disciplines the smaller omega female – or maybe not.

     If that’s what’s going on, she’s very crappy at it.

     She did everything in her power to get Rhodie to take the toy. She’s looking out the corner of her eye to see that she ran with it.

   This is like Pedigree Dogs Exposed but about behavoir instead of health, right? Way years ago, back before most of us were born, people observed the actions of hungry wild wolves feeding,and that was right. But then other people read about the wolves and said that dogs must be the same.

   And for years, dog owners have been saying that their dogs do not behave like hungry wild wolves, but book people do not listen because they believe what they read, not what they hear.

   Then Jemima Harrison FILMED what was happening so that people could see for themselves. That is what you are doing here, right? You show but we must think.
