This one is right on the money! Unfortunately I don’t think it’ll do one whit of good.
The ironic thing is that many of the creationists cited, who are now railing against homosexuality as unnatural, had ancestors who 100 years ago were the targets of demagogues railing against interracial congress/marriage as unnatural–they called it misogyny. And 150 years ago those same people’s ancestors were the subjects of an extreme form of legal discrimination known as slavery–a practice also justified w/ Biblical citations.
Addendum: A number of years ago during my genealogical research, I ran across a study that said younger sons were much more likely to be Gay than their older brothers–especially if a number of sisters had been born in between the brothers’ births. I suspect that this may qualify as one of those endocrinal or hormonal instances talked about in the clip. (Like so many things I’ve run across, read and discarded, I wish I’d kept that study.)
You mean miscegenation, not misogyny.
You are absolutely correct Scottie. As I get older, I find that I more and more often use words that I that have definition for cold, incorrectly in this way (I really do know the difference between the two)–its kinda scary. I’m gonna have to be a lot more careful–spellcheck doesn’t work for stuff like that.
I tend to use CREDIOT,
Great Clip Scottie…good find. Saw Henry Rollins interviewed a while back re gay marriage and he got it in a nutshell…words to the effect of we are here on the earth for a very short time and if two people of the same sex wish to marry then what right do we have to deny them that happiness.
As I get older I become less tolerant of intolerant people :)
Yeah, don’t you just hate those guys? (LOL)
