   Great fun of course, but have you flown across the north Atlantic in recent years, looked down and asked yourself “where did all those bloody great icebergs come from that weren’t there thirty years ago..***!?

     Peter, they weren’t saying that global warming isn’t real, but rather that it flips the news coverage trigger. What that means in essence is that a lot of the good science around it is obscured by quack, pseudoscientific claims. As a result gullible people believe it all (at least till the next counterclaim comes along) and skeptical people throw it all away in disgust. QED, our current contretemps.

   Thanks for that item massugu, it’s just that I cannot perfectly understand the language it was in, this being my fault entirely.

   Sorry to briefly interject on the wrong thread – there are just so many to navigate amongst – but in case some British readers have not yet noticed that among the many government U turns of the last few days,there was another one less publicised…

   Basically the eurasian buzzards which have just got back to the south east of England, having been absent during all living memory, are now safe from having their nests destroyed at the behest of pheasant shooting interests.

   Local neighbours of mine, for example, will be overjoyed to know that the two families of buzzard babies currently being raised at the edge of the village will be safe after all. Do I hear a cheer being raised amongst the chiltern hills – yes I do!

   LOL Awesome spot! Sadly, there is more similar selective process to science. As much as I love science, the involvement of homo sapiens makes it highly subjective.
