This is a skull of a small Creature unlike anything i know of in this part of the country. My brother was out hunting in Tishomingo County, Mississippi near the waterway when he found this skull.
In the comments, it is suggest that it is a pekingese or a Chihuahua. I would put a French bulldog, a Boston terrier, a Japanese chin, or a pug on the list of possibilities, too. I am a bit skeptical of it being a chihuahua
It’s not a pig, ET, or a chupacabras*, whatever the hell that’s supposed to be.

Chupacabras invariably wind up being normal animals that have become hairless for some reason. Most commonly due to sarcoptic mange. The chupacabras phenomenon has grown into so many different bizarre and unlikely things that it is hard to have a rational discussion about where this entire story got started.
Ahhhh! Run for your lives, its a WV goatsucker (aka chupacabra.)

I think it started in Puerto Rico, but I wouldn’t swear to that.
Interesting how the jaw is so greatly reduced in size, but the teeth are not commensurately reduced. No wonder the little dogs lose their teeth so early in life. And the eyes are so vulnerable, no real boney protection. Sad.

I just picked up a skull at a thrift store to add to my wildlife skull collection that had me stymied for a bit. Turns out it probably belonged to a pit pull type. the teeth are very worn and had a small caliber hole in top. Google images can help with IDing different species. (I’m in Montana and own an Irish terrier and a lurcher).
Too sad… This is what most of those “cute little dogs” are like inside.

It’s definitely a pug skull. No doubt about it. You should look up a picture, though because the jaws of said skull…are very strange. I vital part of IDing as a pug skull.
