New dogs

Two new Jack Russells have been added to the extended family. They are both female, and they are both litter mates. (Names subject to change.)

This one is named Cammy. She will be living with Catie at Virginia Tech for the spring semester.

This one is named Rhodie (right now). Rhodie was my grandpa's favorite foxhound. She will be living with Willie.

Willie just converted to the nineteenth century LDS Church. So he could marry both of them.

Willie and Maddy visit

Willie and Maddy came to visit today. They are not accustomed to the snow, which is not particularly common in Fayetteville, North Carolina. These photos were taken at my grandpa’s house.

Willie and Maddy wander into the snow.

Miley finds the Jack Russells very interesting. As an intact male, Willie finds her really interesting.

You can really see Willie's little freckles here. They are now quite distinct.

Maddy had to have an eye removed from glaucoma this year. She's 13 years old, and she looks like she's been fighting tigers her whole life.

Maddy likes to eat ice.

Maddy takes ice eating very seriously. She crunches it. I'm sure that's not particularly good for 13-year-old teeth.

Golden jackals drive off sloth bear

I don’t think the jackals have much to worry about here.

Sloth bears very rarely prey on anything other than termites.

However, they occasionally attack people, probably because they view us as a potential threat.
