Not only does this golden have an interesting talent, it has wonderful working conformation. It’s not a big, blocky dog with lots of bone. As I’ve said before, there is a widely spun myth that this conformation makes the dogs better in doing their tasks. The truth is the dogs really need agile, lithe bodies that have a bit more substance than a setter or pointer. They don’t need to be built like Newfoundlands.
Now, that’s a golden! Good deep chest, nice top line, long neck, pretty head with a defined stop and great legs! Bet he/she was taught to surf because not only is that what his/her handler likes to do, but needed desperately to keep the dog busy and find it a job!
This is probably a working-bred dog that was purchased as a pet, only to discover that this dog is too clever to contain in the way we care for most pet dogs. So the dog gets to hang 16.
