Pigs are surprisingly perceptive to sounds. We had one who learned just the sound of the carrot peeler, and would start yelling for treats even if we took it out of the dishwasher to put in the drawer. The other one learned her nickname, and anytime we said it, she would get all excited and want to play. And there’s something about bananas in our house: anytime we’d take one off the bunch and open it, there’s the pig making noise for the peel. Years later, it was the dog begging for the actual fruit. We get weird animals here.
So no true “tricks” like these out of our old pigs, but definitely some level of intelligence, if not stim-response. Cute little buggers though, wish I could have one again. My parents are allergic :(
