too-pale for a blackfoot,
and too small for an Indian Mongoose –
but in the polecat family, for sure. i dunno…
resembles an Asian polecat, with the close-set ears, and the very-rounded ear deeply set in the fur talks Arctic to me – or sub-Arctic but doggone cold.
the coats also stand-off, another cold-climate adaptation –
warm-climate critters have coats that lie slick to the body.
stand-off traps air for more insulation.

Ferret/polecat hybrid? Most of those are much darker though.
