Miley got in the pond.
No. She didn’t swim.
She just waded around in the mud along the bank.
She reeked of pond scum and fish guts.
The Jack Russells were coming in and out of the house, so Miley thought she could, too.
And she sneaked in a few times.
It was not well received.
She got hosed off later, and things were fine.
If she would just swim, she wouldn’t get quite so disgusting.

You can’t blame a dog for being smart. On a hot day, she waded in, cooled off, then let you do the work of cleaning her!
She’s even smarter than that.
She gets to be hosed off in even colder water.
One of the worst mistakes I ever made was to let my dog out near Humboldt Bay when at low tide. We have lots of shellfish and bird life on the bay not to mention the pulp mill. That silty, stinky mud got all over the shell on the truck and it took a lot of washing to get that out of her coat. ugh
One mistake I have not forgotten and won’t make again.
