Hey RT, whats your stance on the origin of the ferret? Is it a steppe polecat or a European polecat?
I think it is almost entirely European polecat. There is a possibility of some Steppe polecats that got crossed in. But they haven’t any genes or genetic markers that are solely Steppe polecat in the domestic ferret.
