Could organisms as intelligent as humans evolve again?

It’s an open question. Could be that, somewhere, organisms more intelligent than H. sapiens have already evolved. If you use a definition of intelligence that is independent of our species perception, could be that there is/are already specie(s) more intelligent than us on our own planet.

On other planets perhaps. My guess is that, without realising it, we ourselves are still evolving. However, when for example man reaches to deeper oceon depths what do we usually find – just more species related to life forms already discovered – and it is the same relative disapointment when isolated calderas are explored for the first time within the New Guinea rain forest for example. Please someone tell me I maybe at least partly wrong about this.
