Thanks for posting this. There was a lot of this when it was about the Godless Communists duping the ignorant Russian peasants. Now that it’s about us duping us these sorts of reminders are conspicuously rarer.

The quote (and so much more) all goes back to the basic “instinct” still in humans — the fear of “others”, “Them” opposed to “us”. Anything/anyone that is ‘different’ is dangerous until proven otherwise.
Religion, politics, so much more; all parlaying that fear and distrust into gaining power over others.
Too bad that people who really need to think about it will probably never read this.
