Matt Taibbi explains the great fraud that got us where we are right now:
I don’t write about this much.
Mainly, because every time I do, I get angry.
And then no one seems to understand what happened.
And that makes me angrier.
People need to go to prison.
They defrauded so many people, and fraud is a crime.

I think Bruce Springsteen said it best:
“Gambling man rolls the dice, working man pays the bills
It’s still fat and easy up on bankers hill
Up on bankers hill the party’s going strong
Down here below we’re shackled and drawn.”
Woody Guthrie also said it:
Yes, as through this world I’ve wandered
I’ve seen lots of funny men;
Some will rob you with a six-gun,
And some with a fountain pen.
And as through your life you travel,
Yes, as through your life you roam,
You won’t never see an outlaw
Drive a family from their home.
Yes, and remember the poorest person in America is rich in third world countries.
Oh, please… The banksters having to go to jail does not have anything to do with third world poverty. (BTW I think they execute fraud at this level in China)
My guess is that as long as they keep funding the two political parties, there is an understanding. Quid pro quo
They fund both parties. If one appears to be winning, they give more to that one. That’s how they operate.
Plus, we now are operating under this framework:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citizens_United_v._Federal_Election_Commission
That’s basically the end of any pretense of this country being operated for and by “We the people.”
The UK is no different. General elections are just to give us the illusion that we the general public have some degree of self determination over our personal fates. It’s always the same organ grinder – just a monkey with a different coloured rosette.
Anyone else have limited bandwidth? There’s a good recent Matt Taibbi article in Rolling Stone . . . in print . . . I don’t know if it says the same thing as the teach-in video, which would take me 20 hours to download, but I have little doubt they overlap.
http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/greed-and-debt-the-true-story-of-mitt-romney-and-bain-capital-20120829
I read that when it first came out. I’m glad someone finally said it.
Most of what we’re getting on Bain really doesn’t make much sense, but that whole article right there explain why his candidacy is so toxic.
Stiff as a crook! I KNEW he didn’t flinch for a reason! Hiding things!
Unfortunately, it really is a case of Coke or Pepsi. Obama, via NDAA, expansion of the drone program, TPP, etc, etc, ad nauseam, is selling our birthright for a mess of pottage. R-money/St. Ryan (read Karl Rove and the Koch Bros.) will simply do it sooner, with more lies and less panache.
Ask yourself how many pols, of either persuasion, left office poorer than when they started? Kinda hard isnt it? The only one I can think of was Thomas Jefferson.
Why does this man have to stand out in the rain explaining this well known scenario to a small crowd. Don’t you have a 24 hour programme called RUSSIA TODAY with an American couple called Max Keiser and Stacey Herbert, for example, explaining it around the clock in massive detail? Much of it is biased and untrue and okay it is set to embarrass the capitalist world and does not concentrate any attention on Russia woes, but nevertheless there is a lot of valid information there and good albeiit uncomfortable debate around the clock. America is the main target of course. Just watch it skeptically – and learn.
Yeah, we have RT News in America. We know it’s Russian owned and pro-Putin, but it’s still pretty interesting to watch at times.
