The only free dog is wolf. Even his freedom is now largely controlled by the man.

  Well, dingoes and other ferals are free too.
  
  But the domestics in the West, they have it pretty damn good– a lot better than many children in the developing world.

    Or, as its worst, millions of domestic dogs are just like cattle, or slaves. Humans use the dog in many ways, I think to a some amount he’s free to do so, because man made dog, and so the dog is never free – not in his mind, too.

Ad dog is a dog and a wolf is a wolf. Animal husbandry is a main livelihood for many people, thus to control “the freedom” of wolves/bears shouldn’t be any issue at all.

Well, edited to add that probably a city dweller sees things differently from his/her rose-tinted glasses…
