     Actually, more and more cities in the eastern United States and Canada are allowing bow-hunters in urban and suburban areas because of the deer over-population problems.

     Unfortunately, western cities are banning bow-hunting in urban areas; and our ecosystem is suffering because of it since the deer learned wolves don’t venture into the cities.

       Maybe you could buy some Finnish yard-wolves ?
       Some sources say they are so used to the people that they don’t even look. They also like to run in front of cars thus you can drive just 40 km / hour. The wolves would also keep the excess dog population down, so there’ll be not much shit or pitbull attacks (this concerns of course the US only). Many good benefits see.

         Urban coyotes already take care of our feral cat and urban fox populations. :)

         That’s the one thing which surprised me when I went to Finland: how many feral cats and urban foxes there are. We have crapload of them too, but coyotes eat the surplus.

     I can tell you that in America, it’s illegal in just about every place to shoot a gun in town.

     And hunting is so in decline in America, that the number one reality show is about a family who made it rich selling hunting equipment.

   Pennsylvania is a sick state indeed! It still amazes me that this state allows canned pigeon shooting despite the fact that it violated the states own cruelty laws and indeed any ethical hunting morals. Wealthy hunters flock to his state to shoot pigeons ejected from boxes because their own states enforce laws prohibiting this sick and morally deficient act. This video only confirms what I already strongly suspected! I second Pegs comment re glad no one was hurt. Thanks for posting this Scottie.

   When there are such a lot of guns so widely distributed among the general population (which just might include some nut cases) then it seems appropriate to have regulations designed to protect the public and conserve wildlife – to state the obvious. I don’t know of course, but I’d take a wild guess this wasn’t the first time a gun was discharged in an American car park or gas station.

     It is always surprising how many people don’t know discharge bylaws exist, even in Canada, in most cities and townships. But again, most of those ignorant folks are from backwater small towns where those bylaws don’t exist.

     So, it is quite puzzling why someone was chasing white-tailed deer with a gun in a Wal-Mart parking lot. I guess he is from one of those small hamlets with very few laws.

   Would american wolves always be too nervous of people to try and hunt in the urban areas?

   I ask as I remember seeing footage of a Romania wolf bitch that came into town to forage for food.
