It’s a culpeo.
Culpeos have a broad range through the Andean region of South America. Their range extends from southern Colombia to Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego.
It is the second largest dog native to South America after the maned wolf.
They do take lambs and the crias of South American camelids.
They also are found in a wide range of habitats, including the Atacama Desert (the driest place in the world). This particular culpeo is visiting the Chilean flamingo colony in this desert.
