I’ve been looking for this documentary for a very long time. I found it here.
Bill Mason filmed wolves in the north of Canada and the Canadian Arctic.
He also had his own pack of captive wolves at home, so he was ahead of Jim Dutcher by at least 25 years.
I remember watching this film as a boy and being so enthralled with wolves. I became a wolf nut, and I’ve always had a soft spot for the lupine.
However, I don’t think it’s wise to make them into something that they’re not. They aren’t dogs. They are wild dog that has been selected to kill things like moose and caribou and selected by our guns, traps, and poisons to be very low serotonin and fearful beasts that can easily rage against each other.
I don’t think I want an animal that has those tendencies thinking of me as a pack-mate.
