Evolution produces many interesting traits that animals use for display and communication.
In sea mammals, I don’t think you can find a stranger trait than the inflatable membrane that male hooded seals have.
The narwhal tusk is a close second!

One thought comes to mind…I wonder if anyone has ever been stupid enough to see what happens if you crawl on your belly toward them with a red balloon in your mouth…silly I know, but it WAS honestly the 1st thought that came to mind :)
