   Beautiful, it’s like they respond to each other on a level we can’t understand.

   I just found a new home for a beautiful 6 year old Husky mix because the woman said, “we have a baby now,” like that explained it all.

     Of course it does, they were just practising their parenting skills on the dog, and now that they have a kid, it’s outlived it’s usefulness.

     I’ve heard people who used to treat their dogs like a child start to resent/dislike their dog once they get a REAL baby.

   Yeah, it’s a Malamute–one of the problems with wolf dogs is most people can’t identify them correctly, and a lot of so-called wolf hybrids get euthanized for doing perfectly doggy things, but somehow having a bit of somewhat recent wolf blood in their background is a reason for condemning them–and they end up having zero wolf blood at all!(at least in the last century or two). People getting rid of the family dog because they were having a baby–what a warped idea that is! And so common…..I wouldn’t be here pecking this out now if it wasn’t for the family dog rescuing me constantly from aggressive neighborhood dogs, irate cattle, maddened pigs, venomous snakes, murderous humans, and several things I never even knew about!(I’m sure). Whenever my parents heard the dog growling at us kids, it was “LEAVE THE DOG ALONE!!!”, and if we got bit aggravating it somehow, it was just too bad(we might even get a spanking or a lecture from parental units on top of the bite!), It was never even considered that the dog was at fault, or that it would be gotten rid of! Different times, for sure……
