It is not a St. John’s water dog with long hair.

It is not a Welsh sheepdog or an English shepherd.

It is a mix.

Black Lab x BC or Spaniel x BC. The eyes are wider set than a collie and a little wall eyed. Sort of looks like that off-coated PWD you posted a while ago.

It would depend on where this dog lives in the states Black Lab and border Collie, in the UK perhaps a Flat coated retriever and Border Collie

The broad head bothers me. I can definitely see the border, although it looks fairly tall. The well-filled-in face doesn’t strike me as a FCR nor a Golden. I guess I’ll go with a Lab/Border cross.
