Dog breeders killed this breed. If I remember correctly, Mark Derr had said in his book ‘How the dog became the dog’ that the brain of a pug has been inverted due to pushing of muzzle too much.

Pugs are being bred with American Eskimo Dogs to produce dogs with more muzzle. They are called Pug-A-Mos and are very cute little dogs with short coats. Their tails are either normal or curled and they can have either floppy or erect ears.
