Nice link – thank you. Both are birds I see each year here in St. Paul. The coots stop, coming and going, at Lake Como. Such funny birds – they dive then pop back up and bounce on the surface of the lake. Occasionally I’ll see a mature bald eagle soaring fairly low near the lake as I drive home from work. The location in the video appears to be Lake Pepin, which is actually the Mississippi River south of the Twin Cities about, um, 70 miles or so. It’s a spectacular place – birding, sailing, camping, leaf-peeping, and pretty darn good eats (The Harborview) in a small town (Pepin) in the Wisconsin side. Too bad it’s supposed to snow this weekend or I’d throw the poodle in the car and take a little road trip….
