The answer to this “Identify the Breed” query has remained unanswered, mainly because it didn’t get many guesses, educated or otherwise.
This dog is not a bluetick coonhound or a grand bleu de Gascogne. It’s not an old harrier or some from some left-over population of English southern hounds.
This dog is a Brazilian tracker (Rastreador Brasileiro). The breed is actually a recreation of a Brazilian scent hound that went extinct in 1973.
The original breed dated only to the 1950’s, when Brazilian hunter Oswaldo Aranha Filho bred a line of large scent hounds to hunt jaguars and peccaries. His dogs included a lot of American foxhound and coonhound breeds, but an outbreak of tick-born piroplasmosis and the subsequent overdoses of tick-killing pesticides killed of the original strain.
The current incarnation of this dog is also a mixture of fox and coonhound breeds and some large French scent hounds. Because baying hounds are not something Brazilians encounter every day, another name for this breed is urrador or “the crier.” Some call the breed the urrador americano, because the high percentage of American coonhound breeds that have been used to restore it.

I’m curious as to where you obtained the pic of the brazilian tracker as it looks identical to my dog. So much so that my first thought was “that’s My dog!”, but reality says it couldn’t be right? My friends all are creeped out by how much it looks like my Cletus too. I got my dog as an adult rescue so I know very little about his prior life . Anyway thanks I just had to ask.

My guess is you have an English coonhound or a bluetick/Treeing walker cross. Or a very unusual bluetick.
