Do you think this is maybe how your flock got slightly reduced? Historically we lost bantams this way; entirely our fault through inadequate protection. Don’t blame the fox!

  Ducks have to learn how to avoid fox predation. Chickens don’t last five minutes here unprotected. Better to give the ducks some freedom and a good life than keep them locked in pens, even if there is that risk.
